Job Title: Chapter Lead – On-Prem and Cloud Security
Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Chapter Lead to drive agile delivery and execution within a high-performing security-focused program. This dual role involves acting as both a Product Owner, managing and prioritizing the product backlog, and as a Release Train Engineer (RTE), coordinating multiple squads to deliver value efficiently. The focus of this role is to ensure seamless collaboration across squads working on on-premises and cloud security solutions, while managing dependencies and aligning with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Product Owner Responsibilities:
Backlog Management:
- Define and prioritize the product backlog based on business objectives, customer needs, and security requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate security initiatives into clear, actionable user stories and tasks.
- Ensure backlog items are well-defined, estimated, and aligned with squad capacity and goals.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, security teams, and development squads.
- Gather requirements and feedback to ensure the delivered solution meets organizational security objectives.
Roadmap and Vision:
- Define and communicate the product vision, goals, and roadmap for security initiatives across on-prem and cloud environments.
Release Train Engineer Responsibilities:
Program Coordination:
- Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) events, including PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and System Demos, ensuring alignment across all squads.
- Identify and manage interdependencies, risks, and impediments impacting execution efficiency.
- Drive continuous delivery pipelines for security services.
Metrics and Reporting:
- Track and report on ART performance metrics (e.g., velocity, delivery rate, release predictability).
- Use data insights to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to optimize delivery processes.
Coaching and Mentorship:
- Mentor and support squad members to enhance their understanding of Agile practices and foster continuous improvement.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Alignment Across Teams:
- Ensure squads align with the overall security strategy, including compliance and governance requirements.
- Coordinate with enterprise architecture and infrastructure teams to streamline delivery across on-prem and cloud environments.
Key Skills and Qualifications
General Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile delivery, including roles such as Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, or Scrum Master.
- Deep understanding of security technologies and practices in both on-prem and cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Proven ability to manage complex dependencies across multiple squads and stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) or other scaled Agile methodologies such as Spotify model.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAFe certifications (e.g., SAFe RTE, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager).
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in cybersecurity (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
